After a hard day of surgery, Dr. Larson heads to the tranquil surroundings of his horse farm and his “clock shop” to pursue his hobbies. He calls the eyelids the “Swiss watch of the body.” Both have fine, anatomical structures with varying geometric, mechanical, and force vector considerations similar to the dynamics involved in blinking, tear-duct function, and proper closing of the lid.

Whether building a clock or repairing and eyelid, the same ability is required in order to calculate absolute precision and, while the tools may be different, the knowledge and skills are the same.

When not creating microscopic-sized watch gears, Dr. Larson escapes into another dimension through his powerful telescope to observe faraway galaxies millions of light years away; a kind of time travel that allows one to see stars and other objects that are millions of years old.
